INTRRODUCTION

Post Graduate course in Tea Management has adorned itself with maturity and with more success. It has become almost impossible to get into any profession without the required technical know-how. Though there were so many professional courses, none were on tea. Employment of output had picked up not only in tea estates but also in the marketing divisions of major agro-chemical sectors and allied industries. Unlike earlier times even the tea estates now a days look for hard core professionals. Till recently there was no structured course in tea. Every job associated with tea industry, right from growing of tea to tea tasting and auctioning has been an on the job training. With these facts in mind Dipras Institute of Professional Studies (DIPS) came into existence in February'2000 and its first session (10 months course) commenced from July'2000. The institute is totally backed by the tea industry and receives guidance and support from it in ail matters.
The course has been revamped according to the needs of the tea industry. The aim of the course is to provide career opportunities and career advancement in tea and allied industry- The ten months course has now been made a one year course.
